After immigrating from Mexico in 1968, Hector began working in construction and labor and has since worked at multiple companies, serving various roles in the construction process. For the last 18 years, he has specifically worked providing traffic control at construction sites.
In 1984, Hector received a call from his friends in the construction business who told him about the benefits of forming a union in the workplace. Since then, he has been a member of LiUNA Local 270.
Hector is joining the essential workers council to represent construction workers and be a connection between them and elected leaders.
Hector lives in San José with his wife and three children.
